What is 3jane.net you ask? Well, 3jane is a character from William
Gibson's _Neuromancer_, and Chiba is a city also featured in that book.
Hence, the machine that runs www.3jane.net is called
chiba.3jane.net.
So, what is chiba.3jane.net for? It's a box I run for myself, my friends,
and my projects. There's lots going on here with lots of different people
doing different things. Most of them I know personally. :)
Why is this page so boring? It's boring because I suck at web design, but
I plan on attempting to stretch my creative legs a bit here so keep
checking back if you care.
Actually, my main impeteus for writing this little boring web page was to
give my users a way to make donations to the server. You see, I don't
charge anyone a monthly fee, but I get lots of people wanting to donate or
help out in some way. Many things I need are too expensive for any one of
my users to handle themselves, so I've put up a little pay pal link so they
can donate whatever they want whenever they want. Neat, eh? Yeah, it's
not that impressive, but effective. :)
